The Schleich figures are all modeled true to detail, lovingly hand-painted and stand for educationally valuable play. The home of the Haflinger is a small town in the high mountains of the South Tyrolean Alps. In the past, you could not reach the mountain villages by car. There were mostly only narrow paths that the farmers could only negotiate on foot or with a sure-footed horse like the Haflinger. It moves safely even on the most adventurous mountain paths. The farmers therefore used it as a draft horse and hitched wagons or sleighs behind the horse to transport food and goods. Today the Haflinger is a popular sport and leisure horse.
